On December 2nd, 2021, Rabbi Schneier was hosted by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture, H.E. Anar Karimov, as a guest speaker at the Peace4Culture Partners Forum. The event held at Azerbaijan’s ADA University was attended by the leadership and representatives of a number of international organizations, global institutions specializing in promoting peace, local government agencies and the diplomatic corps.
Addressing the forum’s opening plenary, Rabbi Schneier noted that Azerbaijan is a beacon of inter-religious and intercultural relations by citing examples of the Heydar Mosque, presided by both Sunni and Shia Imams, and the peaceful coexistence with Azerbaijan’s indigenous Jewish community.
The Forum was held as a follow-up to the Peace4Culture Global campaign launched in June 2021 by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, UNAOC and ICESCO.
