A leading American rabbi who was instrumental in helping establish the Abraham Accords says that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa is deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the execution of the historic agreement normalising ties between Bahrain, the UAE and Israel.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Tribune (TOT), Rabbi Marc Schneier, president of New York-based non-profit organisation The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding which focuses on improving Muslim-Jewish relations, expressed his strong belief that HM the King is one of three leaders who should be considered for the prestigious honour.
“Trump may have had a vision, which is no different from my vision- I have been working on this for 12 years- but the ones who should be honoured are the ones who have executed, the ones who have implemented the vision. Schneier is all praise for HM the King, who he describes as “one of the great leaders in the world today”. “I am a great champion of the Kingdom of Bahrain; I am a great devotee of HM,” he said.
“I believe that HM is truly one of the great leaders in the world today; very courageous, very committed to tolerance, to inter-religious, intercultural understanding, and coexistence.” Schneier is in Bahrain to help promote tourism to the Kingdom primarily amongst the American-Jewish community, which he said would be of great economic benefit for the country.
