FFEU President Confers With Azerbaijan President

President Aliyev & Rabbi Marc Schneier Discuss Strengthening Muslim-Jewish Relations

BAKU, Azerbaijan – Rabbi Marc Schneier, president of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (FFEU), met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev at the Presidential Palace in Baku to discuss strengthening Muslim-Jewish relations globally. The meeting was scheduled in advance of Rabbi Schneier’s upcoming address at the 2017 – Islamic Solidarity Year: Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue Conference, a gathering of global religious leaders in Baku.

The two discussed how multiculturalism is a priority for Azerbaijan and as a result, representatives of all religions and cultures, including the Jewish community live together harmoniously. They also discussed the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States H.E. Elin Suleymanov joined President Aliyev and Rabbi Schneier for the meeting.

It was an honor to be hosted by President Aliyev at his home and to have the opportunity to address this important conference,” said Rabbi Marc Schneier, president of the FFEU.
