Ali Naqvi Ali Naqvi is Founder and President of Beach Chair Capital which is a private equity as well as venture capital firm in New York City. He has successfully launched and grown companies in the industries of pharmaceutical marketing, international trade, information technology, printing, and the automotive sector. Additionally, he owns a real estate development firm which has projects in Dubai as well as the U.S. The newest addition to his group of companies, FWA Auto Group, which was launched early in 2008, was recently awarded a contract by the Dubai Auto Import Exchange, which upon completion later this year will make FWA Auto Group one of the largest auto exporters from the East Coast. His keen interest in public service arises from an old-fashioned patriotism and love of country . His parents immigrated to New York from South Asia in the 1970s and he has been passionate about giving back to the United States which has given his family so much freedom, opportunity and happiness. His commitment to this goal began at the age of 13, when he began interning on Capitol Hill for U.S. Congressmen as well as U.S Senators and was honored to be the youngest intern ever in the history of Washington, DC. Since then,he has led efforts in combating hate crimes, developing young voter programs, and fighting for international human rights in developing countries. The New York Times wrote an article on Ali entitled "Chasing The Future" which highlighted his achievements. The New Jersey Star-Ledger also recently awarded him their "Extraordinary People Award". With a deep commitment to the flourishing of democratic ideals in the United States and abroad, Ali has received awards from Princeton University' Woodrow Wilson School, Georgetown University and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Ali did his undergraduate work in political science
at The American University's School of Public Affairs in Washington, DC
as well as Oxford University in England where he received the Oxford University
Academic Excellence Award. |
