In 2006 The Foundation launched an International Public Service Announcement Campaign to combat Anti-Semitism and Racism. The centerpiece of this landmark initiative was the development, production and airing of public service announcements for television that will motivate and energize people to combat the recent surge of anti- Semitism in Europe and Latin America. Thus far, The Foundation has completed production of its first set of PSAs, featuring Jay-Z and our Chairman, Russell Simmons. Using Voxonic, the latest technology in voice transformation, the commercials have been translated into German, French, Russian and Spanish. The Foundation, in cooperation with the World Jewish Congress (WJC), and its affiliate, the European Jewish Congress, will air the PSAs in major European countries, including Germany, England, France and Russia. On November 12th, Rabbi Marc Schneier formally presented the PSAs to leaders of the European Jewish community at the WJC Governing Board Meeting in Paris. Earlier this year, in January, Rabbi Schneier was the keynote speaker at the WJC plenary dinner in Jerusalem. In the presence of WJC President, Edgar M. Bronfman, and Chairman, Rabbi Israel Singer, Rabbi Schneier presented the commercial to Jewish leaders from around the world. We are pleased to partner with the WJC in televising the PSAs in Europe and Latin America. In addition, Time Warner has generously committed air time to show the commercials in the United States. That campaign will be launched before Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in January 2007. We thank the following for their generous support of this project; Ecko Complex LLC, the World Jewish Congress, Deutsche Bank, The Denise & Jordan Zimmerman Family Foundation, The Randi & Mark Jacobson Charitable Foundation, Deutsche Telekom, The Harvey & Gloria Kaylie Foundation, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robinson, Marc and Diane Goldman, and Denise Rich. Thanks to our Creative Director, Alan Zwiebel, Copywriter, Geraldine Newman, Director Bill Mason, Jason Gerard at Liquid Entertainment, Arie Deutsch at Voxonic and David Friedman at DJM for their creative and tireless efforts in this campaign.
