Rabbi Marc Schneier Represented American Jewish Community
at Memphis 40th Anniversary Commemoration of
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Assassination

On Friday, April 4, 2008 Rabbi Marc Schneier, President of The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, represented the American Jewish community at the 40th anniversary commemoration of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. which took place in Memphis, TN. Rabbi Schneier, one of the featured speakers at the event, joined dignitaries from around the nation for the symbolic march to the Lorraine Hotel to join the King family in remembrance.

On Saturday, April 5, 2008 Rabbi Schneier addressed the Baron Hirsch Synagogue, Memphis' premier Modern Orthodox institution. During morning services, Rabbi Schneier delivered his sermon, "King's Legacy and the Promised Land for Black-Jewish Relations." Before afternoon services, Rabbi Schneier continued his message in his sermon, "Expanding King's Dream: Muslim-Jewish Dialogue."

Rabbi Marc Schneier addresses a crowd gathered at Memphis' City Hall to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rabbi Schneier was joined on the podium by Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson, Bernice Albertine King and Martin Luther King III.
