The Foundation Honors Leaders in Black Jewish Relations and
Muslim Jewish Relations at New York Fall Benefit

The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding held its annual New York Fall Benefit on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Lauder residence.

Rabbi Marc Schneier, President, and Russell Simmons, Chairman, presented the 2008 Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Award marking achievements in Black Jewish relations to Mark Ein, Founder and CEO, Venturehouse Group, LLC, Janus Holder, Chairman and CEO, EJE Travel Retail and Rodney Propp, Chairman, Tahl Propp Equities.

The first ever 2008 Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Award for achievement in the field of Muslim Jewish relations was presented to Ali Naqvi, President, Beach Chair Capital.

According to Rabbi Schneier, "This month, we all witnessed a pivotal moment in our country's history, and our honorees' commitment to the cause of diversity and race relations is a reflection of this change. We are most encouraged and excited to introduce our inaugural award for Muslim Jewish relations, recognizing the changing face of America's communities."

This benefit is held annually to support the many programs of The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.
